acoustics1220: (My SN has more fun than I do)

I have totally fallen in love with this simple layout; though I was a little 'meh' when I realized it doesn't like sidebars, but that's okay, I have a floater post now to keep my links all together in one place and yeah. I dunno, I just like the darker colors; greys, blacks, deep blues, and the whole pink and grey think actually looks really nice to me and I smile every time I look at my page.

Yay :D )

ALSO - I posted my story for [livejournal.com profile] hhr_challenge HERE

MEME [quite lengthy too] )

Title: Contentment
Author: acoustics1220
Format & Word Count: Ficlet, 1006 words/4,933 characters (no spaces)/5,954 characters (with spaces)
Rating: G
Prompt: August 4th the swing set (image under the cut)
Warning: Cavity inducing fluff =D
Summary: Playgrounds: an environment important in nurturing children. ‘Professionals recognize that the social skills that children develop on the playground become lifelong skill sets that are carried forward into their adulthood. Independent research concludes that playgrounds are among the most important environments for children outside the home. Most forms of play are essential for healthy development, but free, spontaneous play—the kind that occurs on playgrounds—is the most beneficial type of play.’ Reference.com
Author's Note: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] the_lone_jen, [livejournal.com profile] chibitoaster, and [livejournal.com profile] thebouncingball the first two for so kindly offering to read my jibberish, and to the latter for graciously agreeing to read through my HHr-ness. I am dreadfully sorry to say that I scrambled on this drabble. I had three different people look at it early on, and I’m very grateful to them, but after I edited [in the late evening hours of August 3rd] no one reread it for further errors. All errors are my own.

The breeze was refreshing and entreating. He hoped this would last forever. )

'Lo

I fail. LOL

I've been intending to beta my fic...I have 2 returned versions of my story from people that kindly beta'd a drabble for [livejournal.com profile] hhr_challenge and for the whole WEEK I've successfully and dismally excelled in procrastinating from doing just that. Go me? I'm supposed to post on the 4th and I don't think there's been any activity at [livejournal.com profile] hhr_challenge yet, so that makes me slightly nervous, too. OH WELL. I'm totally up for making a fool of myself for the sake of getting the ball rolling over there. Seriously guys, GO TO [livejournal.com profile] hhr_challenge and contribute to the awesome FF of our fandom!!!

In other news, I saw Hairspray yesterday with my mom because she mentioned wanting to see it and I made the suggestion because she was SO BORED [and I was successfully procrastinating as aforementioned...]

Under a cut so as to save your flist page )

Hey guys! I'm back!

I can't remember if I've posted since...the time I was reading the book. I finished Sunday night, but didn't really feel like posting about anything. The things I DID post were all shippy related too, just because I'm a PROUD HarryHermione shipper, and I LOVE you guys. Anyway, I've been wondering if I could even give a review of the book, but I guess I could sum up what I feel about it under a cut. Hopefully it won't get too long.

Review of DH - spoilery )

ALSO!!!! I posted prompts over at [livejournal.com profile] hhr_challenge - come on guys! Go support OUR SHIP and contribute! You can post Fanart, one-shots, and drabbles that are inspired by the prompts there. There's a prompt for every day of the month. Stuff should be showing up at the comm very soon actually, since August prompts were posted in June, and we've got maybe a week until the 1st. I'm so excited!

Interviews and sneak peeks on HBO - youTUBE!! )

In other news - I've been thinking about writing HHr again. A year ago, my big goal had been to become an author at PK [which I did] and to continue from there with exceeding fervor [thats a negative]. And seeing as that didn't happen, I've written a couple of drabbles, have a few unfinished stories on my hard-drive - but have yet to post anything since back in ...maybe November.

Well that has ended and I've indeed written out a little drabble for the community I'm helping to mod at: [livejournal.com profile] hhr_challenge

I wanted to do something early on in the month of August because I'm not sure how many people are actually going to participate there.

...lets just say I wanted to throw in my own contribution to the effort. It'd be really nice to see the comm take off in a whirl of whizbangs and other satisfying Weasley Twins hubbub, so after all my dribbling, I have come to post requesting the assistance of a beta.

Ineedabeta!

*cough*

Pretty please? Anyone? I'm not a great writer, or even a good one, but wow - betas are LOVE, and I know I could do with much constructive criticism and just some general help in the vicinity of writing again.

*smiles hopefully*

*offers HBO previews*
