'Lo
I fail. LOL
I've been intending to beta my fic...I have 2 returned versions of my story from people that kindly beta'd a drabble for
hhr_challenge and for the whole WEEK I've successfully and dismally excelled in procrastinating from doing just that. Go me? I'm supposed to post on the 4th and I don't think there's been any activity at
hhr_challenge yet, so that makes me slightly nervous, too. OH WELL. I'm totally up for making a fool of myself for the sake of getting the ball rolling over there. Seriously guys, GO TO
hhr_challenge and contribute to the awesome FF of our fandom!!!
In other news, I saw Hairspray yesterday with my mom because she mentioned wanting to see it and I made the suggestion because she was SO BORED [and I was successfully procrastinating as aforementioned...]

Anyway, my review:
I think Hairspray was cute. I was definitely laughing A LOT because there were some lines in the script that just made me roll over with laughter, but here's the thing. IF you don't mind a movie where people break out into song in regular day life like it's normal, than this is the movie for you - but if you don't like the cheesiness that is Musicals put in MOVIE VERSION [like GREASE] save your money and rent it if you feel so inclined to see it at some point.
I seriously enjoyed it, though my mom thought it ran a little too long. [She's getting old ;) LOL - she's...at the top of the hill, not yet over the hill, but high enough to cause nosebleeds? hee!
Well back to the movie - the main character is very bubbly, very cute, and a BIG girl :D That was cute, and something worth seeing since everyone in hollywood has to be rail-thin *shakes head*
And of course there's the regular popular, bossy enemy that hates the main character because of blah blah [all that stereotypical cliche'd stuff]. Anyway, I have to mention that I loved Christopher Walken and John Travolta in this. Travolta looks awful as a woman, but OMG it was hilarious. Walken made me grin the whole time because all I was thinking was 'I've got a fever, and the only cure is MORE COWBELL'. Sadly, he didn't do that, but yeah - fav line from Travolta - 'Goodness, there's so much air out here, can't we just go somewhere a little stifling?' [Or something close to that]. It was SO funny.
Again, if you couldn't stand Grease, or don't like musicals/movies - don't go to this because there's lots of singin', there's lots of dancin', and lots of cornyness to be had. I, of course, loved it for all those exact things because it all just makes me laugh and grin. It really was an amusing movie and I think it was just fine. Of course, my favorite movie of all time is The Sound of Music and another fav is Grease so...yeah.
Well known faces:
John Travolta
James Marsden [CUTEEEEE]
Queen Latifah [good lookin' woman]
Michelle Pfeiffer [she just looks SO AMAZING]
Christopher Walken [omg, you have to see him sing, SO FUNNY]
the woman from...that 'President' show with the Sheen guys in it? Not Stockard...secretary? or somethin'? I FOUND her NAME: Allison Janney
Amanda Bynes [SO FUNNY, she had her good moments, but very sidekick-y]
And...apparently a very popular young dude that's got all these girls knickers in a twist [of the teenybopper variety] Zac Efron? whatever, he's too...pretty
That's all I can remember now, but it was an entertaining 2 hours for me.
RATING: 4 out of 5 stars
