My email about the 60 mile, 3 day walk

One of my piano students, Melissa, had a scare last year with her mother. A lump was found, and a Masectomy was done. Melissa is now connected to this cause, and knows the fear of losing a loved one. We're all connected, but have we felt the affects in our own circles?
I have, and I donated cash to her today to help in some way. I plan to donate more, every month, until November when the actual walk happens. I'd appreciate if any of you could actually help her to raise this money. She's training for it, because a 3 day walk of 60 miles is no easy feat. I don't want to beg for money, but I do want you all to know that this is very close to me. My mother had surgery done to remove a lump. I was 3 years old, and barely in Pre-K. She went for surgery early one morning, and both my parents came and picked me up after.
I never knew the possibility of losing my mother that day, but I understand the magnitude of it today. I've lost an aunt to breast cancer, my mother has to be tested every 6 months to make sure nothing weird pops up, and I've had to go in to be tested 'just to be safe'. It's scary, and I'd feel better knowing that in some small way, I'm helping this cause.
Anyway, I asked Melissa to send me a widget to post on my blog. Basically the only RL thing that I have on here connecting me to another person from my real world. If you can donate, I'd appreciate it, if you can't, don't fret. But if there's a possibility in the future to donate, please do. ♥
