Holiday Wishlist 2007

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

I'm doing this because I need to be cheered up for my future week of doom. 4 Finals, almost all on the same day. Yuck.

The Wishlist

1. -_- and because my extra icons deal is expiring in 11 days come 2 hours, to be gifted icons for...be it 2, 6, or 12 months would be awesome and I would totally enjoy and appreciate them. They make me so happy and amusingly enough, collecting icons was the one way I found out there are LIMITS to photobucket folders (1000, fyi).

2. HUGS are awesome ;)

3. Wish me luck for my FINALS!!

4. DONATE!! Make donations of clothes, or canned/non-perishable food items at least 4 times in the next year. Not just during the holidays.

5. A(or a few!!) personalized icon!! Something unique, eye-catching, and just for me ^_^

6. Do community service. The one sure way that I can make myself happy is by going out and helping others. Whenever I go volunteering I have loads of fun, and it helps me to get grounded. It's a constant worry of mine that I lose sight of what's really important in life, and doing volunteer work is a really helpful way for me to 'regroup'.

7. Smile ~~it confuses them~~. Just kidding!! But seriously, smile! Smile, say hi to a stranger, make someone happy for even just a moment.

8. I'm running out of ideas...

oh! HHr FF! OR HHr icons, or just...HHr stuff! MY OTP for all time MANNNNN. HHr art? Hermione art, a sketch, a manip, *shrug* HHr!!!

9. Okay, the second to last of anything that could be monetary. :) The HP poster that I've always wanted. Or the framed version, or this ...rare thing here (honestly, I'm not expecting this, but hey! I can wish! I'm always wishing.)

10. HP memorabilia, Harry's or Hermione's wand just for the 5 year old in me. My parents would look at me like I was going crazy or something. I can just imagine their expressions now, LOL. I seriously considered purchasing wands in that pamphlet included in the GoF DVD box, and the time turner necklace, or the case of wands of the Champions: Fleur's, Viktor's, Cedric's, and Harry's, but didn't because I forgot, lol!
