Chapter 13 of January by Musca has been posted - though I think most of my flist already knows by now. It was up this morning when i checked my email. She is SO under appreciated at PK, I hate it. READ HER STUFF! AND REVIEW!

Chapter 5 of Accio Life by JazzyGeorgie was ALSO updated earlier this week. I forgot to post about it. ANOTHER under appreciated writer.

OHHH - a tidbit of information about getting around TOS rules and such, if LJ actually does a search for URL active links, ONE way to get around that is to not post the URL as a link, but to put the address of the link in your post, just not hyperlinked - there are VARIOUS ways to do that. Either putting in hxxp://whatever.your.url.is OR just doing the www.whatevertheurlis.com [you just wanna make sure it doesn't work as a hyperlink from your post, that's how it's tracked.]

And just because I'm looking at this other page while updating: upsa_daisy has posted some BEAUTIFUL STOCK ICONS.

I'm ON A ROLL!!! I completed the 3rd season of ER by watching the DVDs at home, one DVD an evening. AND NOW I HAVE THE 4TH SEASON ON DVD!! See, I wait YEARS to buy the DVD seasons because they're usually around $20 at Half Price Books, and that's a STEAL. So I have seasons 1-4 on DVD now, and I don't think I've spent over $100 for these. SO awesome. Saving money is made of WIN.

Lol, look at you, my little rec crusader :) Thanks hon, you made my evening with your indignation but I'm really not that fussed. I used to be a bit miffed, but those days are long gone; PK's always been a bit of a mystery. Now I'm happy to just, erm, potter in my own corner and those who care keep returning, and that's enough. And let's face it, January hasn't been an easy one to read. :D Thanks again, I really do appreciate it.

January is brilliant - it takes a bit of focus and attention to pick up on all the subtleties, but that's what I love. The good writers just happen to put things together so nicely and then the story just pulls it off so nicely and then you're just like - whoa.

amendment - IMO - you should be in that group of the 'best of the best'; perhaps I should amend that group name and just say, the fics with the most smut in them? I wouldn't know, haven't read much lately in that category over at PK.

Thanks again for the vote of confidence. I've pared down the only smutty scene in mine SO much that it hardly has any smut, and that scene hasn't occurred yet, so I doubt it's the smut that people read January for :D I've hardly read any fanfic in the last year or so actually, except for a peek here and there mainly leading up to DH and after, and that's possibly my problem: I have no idea what people are up to. It helps to know your audience ;)

As for knowing your audience - I suppose, but [imo], a writer can pull in any reader if the content is such that it's just...absolutely- it just sucks you in.

Sometimes though, the best ones slip through the cracks...

Oh, because I started with a PG stupidly and gave no warning about upping it later. So I don't think it's fair to go beyond PG13. I don't know if I can write smut in PG13 even, even minimal, implied smut ;) . Oh well. It's done; this particular chapter needs that step, so...oh well.
