I've been...hearing things, but I don't have a GJ or whatever. I looked at it and didn't like it much. There's not a lot of uh, contraband (for lack of better word) in my domain I suppose, so I'm going to stick around here and see how the wind blows.

Sad thing about it? See, I can't write smut - [and I won't anyway] BUT, if you LINK out to another server, another website, and there's even a QUESTION of higher rated content on the OTHER site, you can be reported to LJ. Once you're reported to LJ, and the claim has some validity, LJ can go into your account and look at ALL your posts, whether they're privated, f-locked, or open. Which kinda makes me mad since LJ claims that private posts will not be seen by anyone but yourself. Yet I guess I should know that that doesn't mean LJ doesn't have the right to go into any certain LJ but yeah, it still gets me a little miffed.

GJ isn't at all that good - the servers get VERY slow during high-traffic time and it just freezes up for hours [what I've heard over time]. Esthetically speaking, I don't like it AT ALL and you'll see that if you look at my GJ. I think my subtitle is something like 'This is so aggravating', lol, and then in my profile I say something like - 'In the event that LJ suspends me, I will continue at this journal forthwith' and that was it. I felt like I needed to do it because like someone else pointed it out, it's better to have a back-up plan before anything gruesome happens so that at least everyone can find you in return. *shrug*

To water it all down I guess, if you link out to something - be specific about the content behind the link. Warn about higher ratings, warn people NOT to click if they're under 18, and write your URL without the regular 'http://www' or else write up the link with an 'hxxp://www' (as long as you avoid hyper-linking it.

Lol, no you're fine. Yeah, the aesthetics of GJ didn't impress me which is why I didn't bother. But as you say, it's a good idea just in case I suppose, if it means the difference between being lost to all your flist suddenly.
