PERMANENT ACCOUNTS

GUYS. I REALLY WANNA GET A PERMANENT ACCOUNT. Is there ANY future info anyone has on IF this is a possibility anymore?? I know LJ before Six Apart, had like, little once a year marathons for selling perm accounts, but they weren't often, or at the most convenient times.

The permanent account sales seem to come around every few years. It should give you some time to save up if nothing else - they're not cheap. ;)

But that was before SixApart. Right? I don't even know if they've alluded to selling perm accounts yet.

And yes, pricey. Last time they were...$150? They used to go for $75, BACK IN THE DAY - maybe. But they pay for themselves in about 5 years, especially if someone like ME is addicted to icons and those 'extras' you can add on to your account, LOL

What's the difference between permanent and paid?

Permanent means even if you leave your LJ for a year, or three - it won't be deleted and purged. You have PERMANENT access to LJ, with all the perks given: the maximum amount of icon space, tons of memory space, unlimited voice posts, huge space for scrapbook stuff, memories, etc...

Paid is just like renting...you pay so many times in order to get so much time under a specific username, but if you leave the account inactive for more than...a year, or whatever - the account is considered abandoned and it's contents are deleted and the username is purged and given free access to anyone that is willing to pay $15 for a rename token.

Permanent accounts are $175?! For the $20/year paid accounts that would mean permanent accounts take like 8-9 years to pay itself off! :-O (right? erm. my math...i think thats right lol)

Although I might actually still be here 9 years from now so i dunno lol

I pay near $30 almost every year to keep all my userpics (over 100) and paid LJ time. Besides, I've had my LJ for a few years now, and it doesn't feel like it.

OF COURSE WE'LL BE AROUND, WE'RE AWESOME LIKE THAT DUH.
