Seclusion

Discoloring
        striated prints
                mid bicep
                        attention

 

Regrets pull edges taut
         avoiding gazes
                  silent pleas
                        attention!

 

Abrupt explosions
            wounded bystanders
                         skin embedded shards
                        ignorance

 

curiosities bloom
            creeping the steps
              like vine alive
                            whispers carry on
                              lavender wind

 

     alone sits the child
                             on those vine covered steps
                           wind pulls her hair
she holds a leaf in her closed palm.

The wind will not carry away this leaf.
