acoustics1220: (HP MOVIE)

All in all, I came out of the movie theater very happy. It ended on a lighter note then what a lot of the characters [in the movie] were feeling at the time, but I think the movie was done well, all things considered.

A lot of the book stuff is cut from the film, but that happens, there's really NO WAY to keep everything right on par with the book because there's just SO MUCH. I stand by my idea of having the movies done in mini-series form [like the classic BBC version of P&P]

The Sirius and Harry moments were really nice to see, the way they always reacted to each other was really great - you could see the bond between them as it forged stronger as the movie continued and it helped us as the audience to realize what Harry would be losing.

Grimmauld was interesting, there were quite a few differences in situations that happened in the book that didn't happen in the movie, so a lot of things were introduced differently or else not at all [like the LOCKET].

Kreacher is a nasty little thing, but I didn't think he was justly acted out. He seems quite vile in the book, but he seemed too...sane in the movie if anyone could understand that O.o

We don't see much of Fred and George Weasley, near the end of the movie the whole *twins leaving* sequence is done quite differently and we don't get to see their ingenious swamp on the 5th floor.

Romantically? There's finally some RHr stuff that's actually obvious and which I, of course, did not particularly favor, but for canon's sake, they did keep with the script in what they SAY rather than where they're supposed to be situated according to the book. There's one scene where it's supposed to be the trio at the couch, and Ron begs Hermione for help on his homework and she takes both boys stuff, but in the movie, it's Ron and Hermione walking around in the common room and they're discussing the homework and she just says she'll 'only do the introduction' for him, and THEN they sit down with Harry. THAT was the only scene I caught that really emphasized Ron/Hermione.

See? I'm trying to be fair here when it comes to ships.

Harry/Hermione PWNS all RHr moments *cough*

Grawp is in, too. That was an interesting sequence, it really was. I'm not sure if I liked that part, but...dunno, it was alright.

In the movie there's a new scene that I had no idea of, but you'll have to skip over to my 'differences' post. =D Don't wanna spoil too much. [Has to deal with Umbridge and the DA, as a whole]

Characters missing from the movie:
Lee Jordan, Marietta Edgecombe, Dobby, Mundungus Fletcher, [there are more I'm SURE]

I LOVED the scenes in the Department of Mysteries - seriously, I was just sitting in my seat enthralled by it. The Prophecy room is amazing.

All in all, a good movie, a lot of scenes that would've helped with continuity in the next movies were cut, and [when the movie starts - there's lot's of jumping around] and there's just a lot of stuff that's going to have to be crammed into the next movie to build-up correctly to the end.

I do recommend everyone go see it, I think it's worth the ticket price ^_^ I'll be going again with my buddy this Saturday, now that I know I won't cry [my eyes welled up for a SECOND near the end] and I'll get to see things that I missed the first go-around.

GO GO GO!!!
